What's a Chanukah latke without fresh applesauce to balance the savoury flavour? This classic applesauce recipe includes a touch of maple syrup and cinnamon to really elevate the sweet and spicy flavour of the sauce.
Ingredients

6 apples (Honeycrisp, Macintosh or GrannySmith)

1 tbsp lemon juice

3/4 cup water

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup maple syrup
Directions
Cut apple into cubes (peeled or not)
Place apples in pot with water and lemon juice
Over med-high heat, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 12-15 minutes
Remove from heat and add syrup and cinnamon
In a blender or food processor, pulse until preferred consistency
